Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® (Mainstreet) has a long history of serving REALTORS® and the communities their members reside, work and volunteer. Today, with more than 17,000 members, Mainstreet and their members cover more than 200 municipalities in DuPage County, Lake County and Western and Southern Suburban Cook County, Illinois.
The Problem
As Mainstreet’s membership has grown throughout the years, so did the expectation for how people interacted with the organization online. Before engaging with Adage, Mainstreet had a Content Management System (CMS) that was difficult to manage and update presenting limitations for the website.
Mainstreet chose Adage Technologies for the rebrand, redesign, and implementation of the new website due to Adage’s use of Agile Scrum methodology, budget-focused project managers and innovative design expertise.
Branding
The project began with a discovery engagement called Adage Align. Adage Align consists of multiple onsite and remote workshops with Mainstreet stakeholders and members.

Easy-to-Edit Content Management System
Optimizely was chosen as an easy-to-edit content management system that seamlessly integrates with even niche database management platforms.
Mainstreet especially appreciates the use of a component-based design versus numerous page templates. Blocks are designed and developed to be extended to different sections of the website. This allows Mainstreet to spread the work of website updates and content population across the six-person team without sacrificing consistent branding.
Personalized Member Center
Mainstreet now offers a personalized member experience in the clean, intuitive, and responsive member center that represents the organization's goal of serving their members well.
During the project Adage was able to take Mainstreet’s six member personas leveraging Optimizely’s personalization capabilities to create an individualized experience on the site.
Mainstreet is good at figuring out what members need and now the website does a good job of serving the members’ needs.
