As COVID-19 cases increase nationwide, we are forced to find new ways to operate and connect culturally, emotionally, and mentally. Organizations that have had to close their doors are opening a window, virtually speaking. We are proud to partner with these passionate organizations offering learning experiences for all ages and free entertainment to engage audiences. Staying home isn’t an option it’s a necessity and we want to help you fully commit to it by sharing some of our clients’ virtual offerings and recognizing the ways they help us stay connected.

Tune in every Wednesday at 7:30 pm to Strathmore’s Live from the Living Room concert series on Facebook. Plus you’ll find more virtual entertainment options available on Strathmore’s website and social channels.

Dancers at the Houston Ballet are taking over their Instagram. Follow them to see what it’s like to live a day in the life of a professional dancer!

At the end of a tough week tune into SFJAZZ’s concert series, Fridays at Five from 5-6 pm PST (7 pm CST). The program costs $5 and is free for existing members.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is sharing a new series called “Lunch Doodle”. Join Education Artist-in-Residence Mo Willems daily, for a dose of education and creativity.

Strathmore’s Saturday Family Jam Sessions are now online! Spend Saturday mornings singing, playing, and preparing for a lifetime of music appreciation on Facebook Live. Ideal for ages 4–8. Free and open to the public.

The American Academy of Pediatrics shared tips to deal with kids’ increased screen time while schools are closed. I’m sure we could all use a reminder as we continue to social distance and work from home as well.

Volunteering and Educational Resources

The Costume Goddesses of Midland Center for the Arts, a volunteer group of costume designers, are busy making CDC approved face masks during this critical time.

Corinna Bakken, the Minnesota Opera’s costume director was mentioned in this New York Times article for volunteering her time stitching masks out of gowns sent by a local hospital.

For practitioners, the American Academy of Pediatrics offers a webinar with guidance on how to launch telehealth into practice. The American Academy of Pediatrics also shares many resources for clinicians along with critical updates.
